The Australia Women vs India Women ODI 2024 series will start in Brisbane on Thursday, December 5.

As per the Australia Women vs India Women ODI 2024 schedule, the opening two One-Day Internationals of the three-match series will be played at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on December 5 and 8.

The third and final ODI is scheduled to be held at the W.A.C.A. Ground in Perth on December 11.

The upcoming three-match ODI series is part of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25.

Having registered 13 wins, suffered three losses while two ODIs ended in no results, Australia Women are placed on top of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25 standings with 28 points.

Currently ranked number one in the ICC women’s ODI team rankings, the Australia women’s national cricket team will be without their regular captain Alyssa Healy as she is still recovering from a knee injury. However, Alyssa Healy is expected to return for Australia’s forthcoming ODI series against New Zealand later in the month.

In the absence of Healy, Tahlia McGrath will lead Australia in the ODI series against India.

Queensland top-order batter Georgia Voll has received her maiden national call-up for the India series.

Representing Sydney Thunder Women, Georgia Voll was in scintillating form in the recently-concluded WBBL 2024, having amassed 330 runs in 12 matches at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 144.73.

On the other hand, the India women’s national cricket team will head into the series after securing a 2-1 ODI series win over New Zealand at home in October.

The Women in Blue will once again be led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur while Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy.

Meanwhile, India Women have dropped swashbuckling opener Shafali Verma for the three-match ODI series Down Under.

Verma has been in poor form, having scored just 56 runs in the recent home series against New Zealand.

Ahead of the series, the visitors suffered a huge blow as wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia was ruled out after succumbing to a wrist injury. Uma Chetry has been named as her replacement.

India Women will also miss the services of young off-spinner Shreyanka Patil, who is yet to recover from shin splints.

Middle-order batter Harleen Deol has made a comeback in the Indian squad after playing her last game for India in December 2023.

Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh has also returned to the ODI squad after she missed the New Zealand series due to her Class 12 board exams.

The Indian women’s cricket team started their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on the wrong note as they were handed a 58-run thrashing by New Zealand.

The result not only meant the loss of two points but India got a beating in the Net Run Rate (NRR) too because of the huge margin of the defeat.

But the Women in Blue came back strongly with back-to-back wins in their next two group games against arch-rivals Pakistan and neighbours Sri Lanka. The 82-run win against Sri Lanka in Dubai on Wednesday was a shot in the arm to India’s campaign as they made up good ground on the NRR front too.

The result opened up Group A with all teams but Sri Lanka still having a chance to qualify for the semi-finals. Sri Lanka having lost all three games are out of the competition and can play party spoilers for other teams that are in contention.

Defending champions Australia are the other side in Group A and are currently sitting at the top of the pile comfortably with four points winning both their games. The Aussies also boast of an envious NRR of +2.524.

India are second with four points too but they have played a game more than the Aussies and have a lower NRR of 0.576. Pakistan and New Zealand are third and fourth, respectively, with two points each. The Women in Green have an NRR of 0.555 while the Kiwis are in the red with an NRR of -0.050, courtesy of their big loss to Australia.

How can India qualify for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals

The current edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup has a total of 10 teams with five teams in each group. Each team will play the other four sides once in a single round-robin format in the league stage.

The top two teams in each group after the league engagements will advance to the semifinals of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. In case there is a tie between teams with respect to points, then NRR will take precedence. The team with the higher NRR among the two teams will make the cut.

Here’s a closer look at how India can qualify for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals.

Scenario 1: If India win against Australia

In case India win their final league game against reigning world champions Australia, they will end the league stage with six points. But the Aussies will still be on level terms with India if they win against Pakistan.

If the Aussies win that game against Pakistan, then the Women in Green will be out of contention. New Zealand, provided they win both their remaining games against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, will come to level terms with both India and Australia and the two teams with better NRR will proceed.

If New Zealand fail to win any one of their matches then India and Australia will go through.

If Australia lose their next match against Pakistan then it becomes straightforward for India as they can qualify with a win over the Aussies.

Scenario 2: If India lose against Australia

Australia will make their way to the semi-final if they beat India irrespective of their tie against Pakistan. That will leave India at the mercy of other teams for further qualification.

India will finish at four points but New Zealand will have a chance to leapfrog them to six points with wins in their remaining matches. In that case, India will be knocked out.

If Pakistan beats Australia and India lose to the Aussies as well then the Women in Blue will need Pakistan to lose to New Zealand in the final group game. Before that the Kiwis should have lost to Sri Lanka, if not they will qualify with Australia.

India will bow out if either Pakistan or New Zealand win both their matches. A win and a loss for both teams will see them level with India on four points.

The NRR comes into the scene again with the better amongst the three teams qualifying to the semi-finals along with Australia.

The India women's cricket team will host South Africa Women in a three-match T20 international series starting on Friday, July 5.

Led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, India Women will head into the T20I series high on confidence after clinching the Test and ODI series against South Africa Women.

India Women recently thrashed South Africa by 10 wickets in a one-off Test at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Earlier, the Women in Blue secured a 3-0 sweep in a three-match ODI series held at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

As per the India Women vs South Africa Women T20 2024 schedule, all three games will be played at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Ranked third in the ICC women’s T20I team rankings, India Women previously registered a 5-0 clean sweep over hosts Bangladesh Women in their last T20I series in May.

Meanwhile, the India women's cricket team will once again be led by Harmanpreet Kaur while Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy in the upcoming T20I series.

Talented left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque has been included in the T20I series as a standby.

On the other hand, the South Africa women's cricket team will aim to bounce back in the T20I series after losing both the Test and ODI series.

South Africa Women, ranked fifth in the ICC women’s T20I team rankings, also suffered a 1-2 series defeat against Sri Lanka Women in their last T20I series in South Africa in April.

The visitors have announced their 15-member T20I squad to be led by Laura Wolvaardt.

All-rounder Chloe Tryon has been added to the South Africa Women’s T20I squad after she recovered from a back injury.

Delmi Tucker and Nondumiso Shangase, who were part of the Test and ODI squad, will return home after the Chennai Test.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is one of India’s most iconic cricket grounds located in the heart of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka.

Established in 1969, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is owned by the Government of Karnataka and has been leased out to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for a period of 100 years.

Originally known as the Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium, it was renamed  in tribute to Mangalam Chinnaswamy, who was the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from 1977 to 1980. He was  the founding member of the Mysore State Cricket Association and later served the KSCA for close to four decades.

Surrounded by the beautiful Cubbon Park, and uptown MG Road, the Bengaluru cricket ground has a seating capacity of around 34,000.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium staged its first international cricket match, a Test played between hosts India and West Indies in November 1974. The visitors won the Test by 267 runs.

Since then, it has hosted several Tests, ODIs and T20s across formats in men’s cricket.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium hosted its first women’s international match in November 1976 when the India women’s cricket team played a Test against West Indies. The fixture ended in a draw.

Two decades later, it staged its first women’s one-day international match between Australia and South Africa in a Women’s World Cup clash in December 1997. Led by Belinda Clark, Australia won the game by 10 wickets.

It has hosted more than 10 women’s ODI matches so far. Let’s have a look at M Chinnaswamy Stadium women’s ODI records and stats:
