South Africa will lock horns with New Zealand in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Sunday, October 20.

The South Africa vs New Zealand Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 final will start at 7:30 PM IST. Live streaming and telecast of the match will be available in India.

Led by Laura Wolvaardt, the South Africa women's national cricket team stormed into their second successive Women’s T20 World Cup final after they stunned defending champions and six-time winners Australia Women by eight wickets in the first semi-final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Electing to bowl first, South Africa restricted Australia to 134/5 in their 20 overs. Pacer Ayabonga Khaka picked up two wickets while Marizanne Kapp and Nonkululeko Mlaba took one scalp each. For Australia, wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney top-scored with 44 while Ellyse Perry scored 31.

In reply, Anneke Bosch slammed 74 not out while captain Laura Wolvaardt scored 42 to help South Africa reach the target in just 17.2 overs.

Earlier, South Africa finished second in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Group B standings with three wins and one loss. South Africa’s only defeat in the ongoing T20 tournament came against England as they lost by seven wickets in Sharjah.

On the other hand, the New Zealand women's national cricket team booked their place in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 final after they beat West Indies Women by eight runs in a nail-biting semi-final encounter in Sharjah.

Opting to bat first, New Zealand rode on contributions from Georgia Plimmer (33), Suzie Bates (26), Isabella Gaze (20) and Brooke Halliday (18) to post a fighting total of 128/9 in their 20 overs.

Later, right-arm off-spinner Eden Carson bagged three wickets while leg-spinner Amelia Kerr picked up two wickets to help New Zealand restrict West Indies to 120/8 in their allotted overs.

Under the leadership of Sophie Devine, New Zealand earlier qualified for the semi-finals after they finished second in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Group A standings. Having registered three wins and one loss, the White Ferns accumulated six points from four group matches.

New Zealand’s solitary loss in the tournament came against arch-rivals Australia after they succumbed to a 60-run defeat in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, both South Africa and New Zealand will aim to clinch their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title on Sunday. While South Africa have previously finished runners-up in the Women's T20 World Cup history in 2009 and 2010, South Africa lost to Australia in the Women's T20 World Cup final last year.

The Australia Women vs New Zealand Women T20I series 2024 will kickstart at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay on September 19.

The three-match T20I series between Australia Women and New Zealand Women is scheduled to start on Thursday at 02:40 PM IST. Live streaming and telecast for the series will be available in India.

The second match will also be played in Mackay on September 22 before the teams shift base to the Allan Border Field in Brisbane for the final T20I on September 24. All T20Is are slated to start at 02:40 PM IST.

Australia Women will kick start their preparations for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 with the New Zealand series. The Aussies will appear in an international match after a gap of more than five months following their T20I series win at Bangladesh in April.

New Zealand, meanwhile, come into this game after a dismal white-ball tour of England where they failed to register a single win in eight matches, three ODIs and five T20Is. New Zealand will look for an improved showing against the Aussies as both teams head straight to the United Arab Emirates for the T20 World Cup after the upcoming series.

Both Australia and New Zealand are placed together in Group A for the Women’s T20 World Cup which is scheduled to start on October 3.

Both the teams will have a full-strength squad, named for the showpiece event, in action during the series. Australia Women will have one exception in Heather Graham who is part of the T20I series alone and is not part of the T20 World Cup squad.

Six-time T20 World Champions Australia have a plethora of all-rounders in their squad that provide depth and balance in the shortest format.

Vice-captain Tahlia McGrath, Ellyse Perry, Grace Harris, Annabel Sutherland and Ashleigh Gardner will all fancy their chances with bat and ball to hand Australia some winning momentum going into the showpiece event next month.

Captain and hard-hitting Sophie Devine will lead New Zealand’s efforts for a turnaround along with Amelia Kerr and Suzie Bates.

Australia Women are currently on top of the ICC WT20I rankings whereas New Zealand Women are placed in fourth spot.

Australia Women vs New Zealand Women head-to-head in T20Is

Australia Women hold a slight edge over New Zealand Women in their T20I head-to-head record. The Aussies have won 26 matches compared to the New Zealand’s 21 with one match ending without a result.

In the most recent meetings between the two sides in the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023, the Aussies recorded a huge 97-run win over the White Ferns in Paarl.

New Zealand Women vs Pakistan Women T20Is 2023 will start on December 3 and run till December 9 in New Zealand.

New Zealand Women will host Pakistan Women for a three-match T20I series at home. Currently, the White Ferns are ranked third in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings, while Pakistan are placed at the eighth position.

As far as the head-to-head battle is concerned, New Zealand Women have completely dominated Pakistan Women in the T20I format, winning all the eight games played so far.

The Kiwis will enter the T20I series following an underwhelming tour of South Africa, where they played a three-match ODI series and five T20Is. They faced a setback in the ODIs, losing 1-2. The T20I series, however, ended in a 1-1 draw, with three matches being abandoned.

Regardless, the series witnessed a historic moment with Suzie Bates becoming the first women batter to achieve the 4000-run mark in T20 international matches.

Meanwhile, after a disappointing campaign at the Asian Games, Pakistan Women lost a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.

Nida Dar will lead Pakistan in New Zealand and will be backed by the likes of Aliya Riaz, Bismah Maroof, and Diana Baig.

As per the New Zealand Women vs Pakistan Women T20Is 2023 schedule, the first and second T20Is are scheduled to be played at the University Oval in Dunedin, while Queenstown’s John Davies Oval will host the final match of the series on December 9.

After clinching the ODI series 2-1, the Sri Lanka women's national cricket team will host New Zealand Women in a three-match T20I series starting on Saturday, July 8.

Led by captain Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka Women created history by winning their first bilateral series against New Zealand Women in the recently-concluded 50-over series.

While the hosts defeated New Zealand Women by nine wickets (DLS method) in the first ODI, the visitors bounced back with a massive 111-run win in the second ODI to level the series 1-1.

Sri Lanka Women later rode on an all-round effort to win the final ODI by eight wickets (DLS method) in another rain-curtailed game to bag the historic series.

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu led from the front as she smashed two match-winning hundreds in the ODI series. The 33-year-old southpaw amassed 248 runs in three matches at a strike rate of 151.22.

The hosts will aim to continue their winning run in the upcoming three-match T20I series.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand women's national cricket team will look to avenge their ODI series defeat in the three-match T20I series. The visitors will be once again led by captain Sophie Devine.

All three games in the T20I series will be played at P Sara Oval in Colombo.

The New Zealand women's national cricket team will play their first bilateral series in Sri Lanka, starting off with a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series on Tuesday, June 27.

The upcoming ODI series is part of the ICC Women’s Championship, which is organised to determine qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 to be hosted in India.

New Zealand Women have announced a 15-member squad for the historic ODI series in Sri Lanka. The White Ferns will be led by captain Sophie Devine.

Wicketkeeper-batter Isabella Gaze and young pacer Rosemary Mair have made a return to New Zealand’s ODI squad following injury layoffs.

However, the visitors will miss the services of Lauren Down and Hayley Jensen due to different reasons. While Down will skip the Sri Lanka tour due to family reasons, Jensen has been ruled out due to a knee injury.

On the other hand, the Sri Lanka women's national cricket team has also named a 15-member squad to be captained by Chamari Athapaththu.

Nilakshi de Silva, Inoka Ranaweera and Sugandika Kumari are some of the experienced players that have been added to Sri Lanka’s ODI squad.

They have also named some talented youngsters, including Kavisha Dilhari, Harshita Samarawickrama and Vishmi Gunaratne to face a star-studded New Zealand side.

Sri Lanka Women hosted Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series in April-May. The hosts clinched the series 1-0 after two of the three matches were washed out.

Meanwhile, New Zealand Women will play their first ODI series since December last year. They also pipped Bangladesh 1-0 after two other matches were abandoned due to rain.

All the games in this three-match ODI series will be played at the Galle International Stadium.

Sri Lanka Women vs New Zealand Women ODI head-to-head

Sri Lanka Women and New Zealand Women have faced each other only once previously in ODI cricket.

New Zealand Women thrashed Sri Lanka Women by nine wickets in an ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup match in Bristol, England in 2017.
