The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 is confirmed to return to Chennai at the SDAT Multipurpose Indoor Stadium from September 29 to October 10. This will mark the third leg of the season after successful runs in Vizag and Jaipur. 

Anupam Goswami, Business Head, Mashal Sports and League Chairman of PKL, expressed their excitement for PKL’s return to Chennai. He said, ‘We are thrilled to bring the Pro Kabaddi League back to Chennai after two years. Tamil Nadu has always been one of the great kabaddi geographies of India, with a deep cultural and regional connection to the sport.�?/p>

The return is particularly special for Tamil Thalaivas, the home team, as they will benefit from the home crowd support of Chennai’s passionate kabaddi fans. The organisers highlight Tamil Nadu’s historic connection to kabaddi, with legends like Dharmaraj Cheralathan and K Baskaran laying a strong foundation. Now, a new generation of players is continuing the legacy.

Puneri Paltan climbed back to the top spot of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 table with a 39-33 win over Telugu Titans on Saturday, September 13. The team showed both strong raids and solid defence to hold off a late push from the Titans.

Gaurav Khatri and Vishal Bhardwaj stood out in defence, as each picked up a High Five. Their sharp tackles stopped the Titans�?raiders from turning the game around. On the attacking side, Pankaj Mohite and Aditya Shinde kept putting pressure on the other team. 

The Titans fought hard, with Bharat Hooda scoring a Super 10 and Vijay Malik adding 7. Yet their defence failed to match the pace and power of Pune’s attack. 

After the game, sports expert Rishank Devadiga pointed out how the Titans lacked structure in defence and were slow to react to Pune’s raiders. He praised Paltan’s captain, Aslam Inamdar, for leading the charge.

As part of the deal, DOLO, a well-known pain relief brand, will serve as the official partner of UP Yoddhas. Micro Labs�?leaders said the move builds on their long-standing link with Indian sport. With the wellness market in India set to reach $256.9 billion by 2033, the firm sees kabaddi as a strong stage to earn more trust.

This year’s PKL season opened on August 29, 2025, which was National Sports Day. The Yoddhas, led by captain Sumit Sangwan, made a bright start by beating Telugu Titans in their first match.
